Hybrid Car: China’s famous car manufacturer BYD has unveiled its new plug-in hybrid hatchback Dolphin G DM-i for the European market. The special thing is that the company has designed this car from the beginning keeping in mind the needs of European customers. This car is considered a better option for those customers who want the experience of an electric car, but do not want to be completely dependent on the charging network.

Range more than 1000KM
The BYD Dolphin G DM-i measures 4,160 mm in length and will compete with cars like the Volkswagen Polo and Toyota Yaris in Europe. The company claims that on full tank and full charge, this car will be capable of giving a driving range of more than 1,000 kilometers. This is considered to be its biggest specialty.

Powerful Hybrid Technology
This car has BYD’s famous DM-i Plug-in Hybrid technology, which mainly focuses on electric driving. When needed, the petrol engine helps charge the battery and cover long distances.

Possibly found in:
1.5-litre petrol engine
Front-mounted electric motor
BYD Blade Battery Technology

Global models get the option of 7.8 kWh and 18 kWh battery packs, which can range between 40 to 90 kilometers in electric mode only.

Production will take place in Europe
According to reports, BYD can produce this car in its Hungary plant in Europe. This will give the company an advantage in terms of price and supply in the local market.

Preparation of hybrid cars in India also
Recently BYD India has released the teaser of DM-i Hybrid technology. Apart from this, Sealion 6 PHEV and Atto 2 Hybrid SUV have been seen during testing on Indian roads. At present the company sells only electric cars in India, but in the coming time, BYD may also take a big step in the Hybrid segment.
