New Delhi, May 28: After the resignation of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, the Bharatiya Janata Party has strongly attacked the Congress. Party leaders say that the distribution of power within the Congress is not done through any transparent process, but through a system like internal bidding.
BJP leader Gaurav Vallabh said that the leader who has the maximum internal strength and support becomes the Chief Minister. He alleged that Siddaramaiah had to step down due to his weak bid. Vallabh called it a new political model introduced by the Congress.
He also raised questions on Rahul Gandhi’s leadership claim. Vallabh said that the opposition alliance ‘India’ contests different elections in different states, hence it does not appear to have any concrete form. He asked how the alliance could claim to be its leader if it was not actually working.
BJP spokesperson R.P. Singh pointed to administrative implications. He said that civic amenities have been affected in Bengaluru, government files are getting stuck and development work has come to a halt. Singh warned that the general public is having to bear the brunt of the internal disputes of the Congress.
