Congress leader Rahul Gandhi responded to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s comment in an X-post. He wrote, “Dharmendra Pradhan ji, you can attack me all you want, but that will not absolve you of your crimes. Nor will it stop me from demanding answers for 18.5 lakh children. Why was CBSE’s OSM contract given to COEMPT – a company that was already surrounded by controversies under its old name Globarena? On whose orders was this done? Why were background checks not conducted? On COEMPT’s behalf What is the connection between the management and the Modi government? Either you got the background check done and then you did not get it done. In both cases, as far as responsibility is concerned, he should have removed you long ago for ruining the future of lakhs of students.
Earlier, while talking to journalists on Thursday, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan reacted to the alleged anomalies in CBSE examinations. He said, “Yesterday CBSE gave its reply on this matter. This is in line with the procurement policy of the Government of India. I want to assure everyone that if any irregularity is found, no one will be spared.” Meanwhile, responding to the comments of the Leader of Opposition, he said, “But as far as Rahul Gandhi is concerned, it seems that he has reached a different mental state. He seems dejected due to continuous election defeats. He opposed SIR, he opposed EVM, and he also opposed Digital India. It does not seem that he stands with the scientific progress of India.”
Dharmendra Pradhan further said, “As far as this issue is concerned, I take responsibility for any inconvenience caused by the government, and I request everyone that this is not the time to do politics. I have said this earlier also. Politics can be done later. The most important thing right now is that the mental stress of these students and examinees should not increase further. We appeal to everyone that their stress should not be increased further by anyone’s words or behavior.”
Let us tell you that Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday had made a scathing attack on the Modi government at the Center over irregularities in the evaluation and results of CBSE 12th examinations. He alleged that due to this “heinous manipulation”, lakhs of students and their parents in the country are in shock and mental stress.
