Gwalior Shakti Didi Campaign: Collector today made 6 women “Shakti Didi”, till now 118 women have become self-reliant.

The “Shakti Didi” innovation being run in Gwalior district towards making needy women self-reliant is continuously setting new examples. Under this initiative started as per the intention of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, women are now taking up the responsibility as fuel delivery workers at petrol pumps and are becoming economically empowered.

On Thursday, six women of the district were given new responsibility as “Shakti Didi”. Along with this, till now 118 women in Gwalior district have joined this initiative and have moved forward on the path of self-reliance. On this occasion, Assistant Director of Women and Child Development Department Rahul Pathak and Assistant District Supply Officer Saurabh Jain were also present.

Shakti Didi Campaign

The “Shakti Didi” campaign started in the direction of making women self-reliant in Gwalior district is continuously showing impact. In this sequence, Collector Ruchika Chauhan handed over the charge of Gayatri at Sainik Filling Station on Race Course Road and Praveena as “Shakti Didi” at Kesar Filling Station. During this, he welcomed the women with garlands and also honored them by making them wear special jackets. The Collector encouraged the women and said that they should perform their responsibilities with confidence. He assured that the district administration and police will stand with them in every situation. Also, instructions were given to the petrol pump operators to ensure that women should not face any kind of inconvenience at the workplace.

Initiative to make women self-reliant

In the same sequence, other officials of the district also handed over the responsibility of “Shakti Didi” to women at different petrol pumps. Kalpana at Kamtanath filling station in Baragaon, Sonam and Sandhya at Suvidha Fuels in Kampu, while Anuradha was appointed as fuel delivery worker at Indraprastha filling station in Gole Ka Mandir. This initiative is not only providing employment to women but is also giving them an opportunity to move forward in the society with self-respect and confidence.
