Karnataka Politics: The time has come for change of leadership in Karnataka politics. After some time, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will go to Lok Bhavan to resign. Earlier, in a meeting held over refreshments at his residence, he had informed his cabinet colleagues about his decision to step down from the post. Officials of the Chief Minister’s Office said that Siddaramaiah can address the journalists around 3 pm.

Meanwhile, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister HK Patil said that Siddaramaiah has informed his cabinet colleagues about his decision to resign from the post of Chief Minister. As per the instructions of the Congress high command, DK Shivakumar will be his successor. Amidst all this, the Chief Minister asked for an appointment with Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot. However, Lok Bhavan sources said Siddaramaiah has not yet sought time to meet the Governor.

Let us tell you that the Congress government was formed in Karnataka in May 2023. During this time, respective claims were being made between the supporters of Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar. However, the Congress high command, trusting Siddaramaiah’s experience, approved making him the CM, while Shivakumar had to be content with the post of Deputy CM. Then there was also speculation that both the leaders had agreed to remain on the post of CM for two and a half years.
