Congress MP Pramod Tiwari told IANS, “We just want to say that every inch of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh belongs to India. If there is any dispute, it is over the part of Pakistan occupied Kashmir. We should get that part back. It should be a part of the map of India. This is the dream of ‘Akhand Bharat’.”
Supporting the MEA statement, Bihar BJP president Sanjay Saraogi said, “It is absolutely right that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India. Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah abolished Article 370 permanently. Jammu and Kashmir is an integral and inseparable part of India.”
At the same time, Uttar Pradesh Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar, while emphasizing the full preparedness of the Indian Armed Forces, said, “It is certain that if any foreign country tries to show aggression or take action against India, our armed forces are fully prepared to give a strong response.”
India categorically rejected the “inappropriate mentions” of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and reiterated its well-established and consistent stand on the issue in a joint statement issued after the meeting of the leaders of China and Pakistan in Beijing on Tuesday.
Responding to media queries on the issue, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “India categorically rejects the inappropriate mention of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in the joint statement by China and Pakistan.”
He said, “India’s stand is consistent and well known to the parties concerned. Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have been, are and will always be integral and inseparable parts of India. No other country has the right to comment on it.”
