Thiruvananthapuram: The political atmosphere in Kerala has become heated regarding ED’s action. ED conducted a search operation at the residence of former Chief Minister and current opposition leader Pinarayi Vijayan in a money laundering case. After this action, there was huge anger among his supporters and protests were also held at some places against ED officials. Now Vijayan has reacted in this matter.
Taunt on Rahul Gandhi
Pinarayi Vijayan said that the agency was trying to raid his house for a long time. Vijayan alleged that such action gives satisfaction to some political leaders. Taking the name of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, he said that Rahul Gandhi had already raised questions as to why his house was not being raided and why he was not arrested.
Vijayan accused the central government of targeting opposition parties. He said that the investigating agencies in the country are being used to create political pressure. According to him, the BJP government is continuously using central agencies against opposition leaders and there have been several protests across the country against this. He also took a dig at the Congress, saying that it only opposes action against its own leaders, while it wants to allow the ED investigation on leaders of other parties to continue.
The former Chief Minister said that such actions will not end his party or the political struggle. Expressing his gratitude to his supporters, he said that whenever the opponents tried to weaken him, the party workers stood firmly with him. Describing this as a new beginning of the struggle, he said that the opponents should not think that they can be eliminated by creating pressure.
