Lucknow. The Supreme Court has given a big decision on the Election Commission’s SIR on Wednesday. The Supreme Court has completely validated the ‘Special Intensive Revision’ (SIR) campaign. Now the opposition party leaders are being cornered by the BJP leaders regarding this. Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya said that Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav and other leaders should apologize to the public and the Election Commission.

Keshav Prasad Maurya wrote on social media With this decision, those who pointed fingers at the Election Commission have got a befitting reply. Other opposition leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, Mamata Banerjee and Tejashwi Yadav should apologize to the public and the Election Commission.

These leaders have continuously made malicious attempts to put a constitutional institution like the Election Commission in the dock. This not only tarnished the reputation of the Election Commission but also committed the sin of spreading confusion about democracy in the minds of the public.

He further wrote, the Supreme Court has made it clear that purification of voter list is very important for a ‘healthy democracy’. Therefore, the opposition should give up its petty politics in this matter and rise above appeasement and take an oath to respect democracy and national interest.

Let us tell you that on Wednesday the Supreme Court gave an important decision regarding the rights of the Election Commission. The court has completely validated the ‘Special Intensive Revision’ (SIR) campaign of voter lists going on in many states including Bihar. The court has made it clear that the Election Commission has the right to check citizenship, but this right will be limited only to inclusion or deletion of names in the voter list. The court also clarified that deletion of name from the voter list does not mean that a person is no longer a citizen of India.
