
Lucknow27 May. Uttar Pradesh government has expanded the scope of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay State Employees Cashless Medical Scheme. Now state employees and pensioners will also be able to get cashless treatment through AYUSH methods like Ayurveda, Unani and Homeopathy. Following the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Health Department has started preparations for this.
CM Yogi took this important decision in the review meeting of the works of health and medical education departments. He gave clear instructions that the services of AYUSH systems should be immediately included in the cashless scheme. Till now only allopathic treatment was covered in this scheme.
State government spokesperson said that this decision will benefit about 28 lakh serving and retired state employees and their dependents of the state. Now these people will be able to get Ayurveda, Unani or Homeopathic treatment without paying by getting admitted in the listed AYUSH hospitals. The bill will be paid directly by the government.
Settlement of treatment claims under Ayushman Yojana within stipulated time limit
CM Yogi also reviewed the Ayushman scheme in a meeting. He directed the officials that the claims for treatment under Ayushman Bharat Scheme should be settled within the stipulated time so that patients and hospitals do not face any problem.
Emphasis on improving the quality of hospitals
The Chief Minister said that the quality of treatment, testing, medicines and emergency services in government hospitals should be better. It should be ensured that the patient gets timely medicines and testing facilities. He also gave instructions to promote research activities in medical colleges and institutes, so that the level of medical education and treatment in the state improves.
Cashless scheme was started in 2022
Actually, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay State Employees Cashless Medical Scheme was started in 2022. In this, state employees, pensioners and their dependents get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh. Cardholders can get cashless treatment by getting admitted in listed government and private hospitals. Now Ayush hospitals will also be added to it. In this sequence, the Health Department will soon release the list of AYUSH hospitals and prepare SOP. This facility will start in a month.
