Inter Miami are soaring under interim coach Guillermo Hoyos, and their reported interest in Casemiro appears to fit perfectly with the club’s philosophy of building around marquee names – though it also presents major financial and roster challenges.

As per interheron.com, the 34-year-old Brazilian midfielder has emerged as a prime target for the club this year. Completing such a move, however, would require Miami to clear a designated player slot and acquire Casemiro’s MLS discovery rights from the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Miami’s dramatic shootout victory over the Philadelphia Union on Sunday marked their fourth consecutive win under Hoyos. Heading into a 59-day World Cup break, the reigning champions boast a 9-2-4 record with 31 points, sitting second in the Eastern Conference and fourth overall. They also lead the league with 39 goals and hold a goal difference of +11.

The team has been particularly impressive on the road, registering a 7-1-1 away record. After a sluggish start at their glittering new home, Nu Stadium, they have now claimed back-to-back wins there as well.

Club owners David Beckham, along with Jorge and José Mas, have built a roster full of global icons. His estimated salary of around $25 million for the 2025-26 campaign would make him the second-highest earner in Major League Soccer, trailing only Messi’s $28.3 million.
