Mikel Arteta has been honoured as the LMA Premier League Manager of the Season, following his achievement in guiding Arsenal to their first Premier League title in 22 years.
The 44-year-old Spaniard received the award through votes cast by his managerial peers from across England’s top four divisions.
Under Arteta’s leadership, the Gunners secured the championship in impressive fashion, winning their final five league matches and finishing seven points ahead of Manchester City, managed by the now-departed Pep Guardiola.
Arteta triumphed over strong contenders including Régis Le Bris, Keith Andrews and Unai Emery to claim this latest managerial accolade.
Arsenal are set to take on Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final on Saturday, aiming to capture their first-ever European crown. Arteta will also be seeking to join an elite group of managers — Sir Alex Ferguson, Bob Paisley, Joe Fagan and Pep Guardiola — who have achieved the remarkable feat of winning both the Premier League and Champions League titles in the same season.
