AKTU Paper Leak: Major and shocking news has emerged for students of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU). The university administration has cancelled a crucial B.Tech examination due to a paper leak. Let's find out when this exam will now take place.
Exam Cancelled: The examination for the B.Tech 3rd Year, 6th Semester was cancelled following a paper leak.
New Date: This cancelled examination will now be re-conducted on June 5.
Number of Exam Centers: The examination was originally scheduled to be held at a total of 135 centers.
Source of Leak: The exam paper went viral from a private college in Noida just moments before the examination was set to begin.
Evidence: In Ghaziabad, students were caught in possession of chits containing the answers to the questions even before the exam had started.
How Was It Exposed?
Semester examinations are currently underway at AKTU, one of Uttar Pradesh's largest technical universities. As part of this schedule, the examination for the B.Tech 3rd Year, 6th Semester was slated to take place. A total of 135 examination centers were established across the state for this purpose, where thousands of students had arrived to take the exam. However, information regarding a paper leak surfaced just a short while before the examination was scheduled to begin, causing a massive stir within the university administration.
Paper Went Viral from Noida
According to reports, a college in Noida is believed to be the primary source of the paper leak. In fact, just moments before the scheduled start time of the examination, the question paper began circulating rapidly across social media platforms and student WhatsApp groups. Initially, it was dismissed as a rumor; however, when the viral paper was cross-referenced with the actual question paper, the two were found to be identical.
Students Caught Red-Handed in Ghaziabad
The paper leak was confirmed when small chits were recovered from several students during inspections at various examination centers in Ghaziabad. These chits contained the exact answers to all the questions scheduled to appear in that day's examination paper. This made it evident that the paper had not only been leaked but had also been solved, and the answers subsequently delivered to the students.
How Does the System Work, and Where Did the Breach Occur?
In the wake of this incident, questions are being raised as to how a paper leak could occur despite such stringent security measures. In reality—and for security reasons—the AKTU administration never dispatches printed question papers to examination centers several days in advance. As per regulations, the question papers are transmitted to the examination centers—either digitally or via a secure channel—exactly 12 hours prior to the commencement of the exam. A Center Superintendent is appointed at every examination center; this official possesses the unique 'ID and Password' required to access and open the papers sent by the university. Consequently, suspicion is mounting that the administration or the Center Superintendent of the Noida-based college—from where the question paper reportedly went viral—may have been complicit in this matter.
