Samajwadi Party (SP) does not want to leave any stone unturned to win the 2027 elections in Uttar Pradesh. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, SP along with its ally Congress created the narrative of the Constitution and reservation being in danger and was successful in defeating BJP. Now the whole strategy of the assembly elections is to prepare to fight with the cry of crisis on the Constitution and reservation. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has made a move to strengthen his PDA (backward, Dalit, minority) by accusing the BJP government of looting reservation in recruitment.

The officials of SP organization are going from village to village and distributing this audit report to sharpen the election strategy. On the other hand, Congress is also going to intensify its efforts to establish the slogan of BJP being anti-constitutional.

How did SP lag after 2017?

In 2012, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav became the Chief Minister by forming a government with full majority. After this, it had to face defeat at the hands of BJP in the 2017 and 2022 assembly elections. If sources are to be believed, he had to face defeat due to the love between Yadav and Muslim. In the Lok Sabha elections of 2024, SP along with Congress changed its strategy and by trying to integrate the backward castes, it strongly raised the issue of the Constitution being in danger. The alliance managed to get 42 seats in the Lok Sabha.

The SP chief is continuously attacking the government in his speeches on the issue of Constitution, reservation and social justice. Non-Yadavs are trying to make inroads among the backward classes, Pasi, Kurmi, Nishad, Maurya, Shakya and Dalit sub-castes. The SP chief’s strategy is to convert the feeling of social insecurity into political unity. The party’s message is that if the opposition weakens, constitutional rights may be affected.

PDA audit book will be distributed

The SP chief has printed PDA audit booklets in large numbers to defeat BJP in the elections. Work is being done to send them to all the districts. It was told in the book how BJP swallowed more than 14 thousand government jobs of backward people. How is the government doing injustice to the backward people? The officials have been instructed to go to every village and distribute the book and tell the voters that BJP is playing with reservation and their rights are safe in SP.
