Bengal Govt's Big Announcement: Fish-Rice Meals At Rs 5, Women To Get Rs 3,000 Monthly

West Bengal newly elected Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, on Tuesday, announced that the government will begin issuing application forms from May 27 for the proposed Annapurna Yojana, under which eligible women are expected to receive Rs 3,000 per month as financial assistance.
In a separate announcement at the same event, he also said that fish-and-rice meals will be made available for Rs 5 at 400 dedicated canteens across West Bengal, as part of a broader effort to provide low-cost meals to economically weaker sections.
