WhatsApp includes a feature that enables you to view status updates without notifying the other person. To do this, first navigate to the app's 'Settings.' Tap on the 'Privacy' option, and then toggle off 'Read Receipts.'

Once you have disabled this setting, your name will not appear in the 'Viewed' list of the person whose status you are viewing. However, a side effect of this is that you will also be unable to see who has viewed *your* own status updates. If you prefer not to disable 'Read Receipts' entirely, there is another method that is quite popular. For this, open WhatsApp and allow the 'Status' section to fully load. Once all the status updates have appeared, switch on your phone's 'Airplane Mode' (Flight Mode).

Now, with your internet connection disabled, view the status updates. By doing this, your 'view' notification is not immediately transmitted to the server. After you have finished viewing the statuses, completely close WhatsApp, and then turn off 'Airplane Mode.' This method often works effectively, ensuring the other person remains unaware that you have viewed their status.

Very few people are aware that WhatsApp status updates are also temporarily saved locally on your phone. Android users can access their 'File Manager' and enable the option to show 'Hidden Files.' Once enabled, you will find a folder named 'Statuses' located within the 'WhatsApp Media' folder.

Here, you can view the photo and video status updates directly—without even needing to open the WhatsApp application itself. However, this method only works for status updates that have already finished loading and caching on your phone.

While it is certainly easy to view someone's status without them knowing, it is equally important to respect their privacy. Use these tricks solely for informational purposes and refrain from exploiting anyone's private information. Furthermore, WhatsApp periodically updates its features; therefore, it is not guaranteed that every trick will function identically across all devices or versions.
