Bilaspur: A sensational case of domestic violence has come to light from Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. Here a woman attacked her husband with a sickle while he was sleeping. The woman suspected that her husband was having an affair with another woman. The husband was seriously injured in this attack, after which he was admitted to the hospital. The police have arrested the accused wife.
Police have identified the victim as Rajesh Kaushik, who works as a mason. He has been admitted to the state government's SIMS Hospital in a critical condition, where a team of doctors is treating him.
There were frequent fights between husband and wife
According to police officials, domestic disputes were going on between the husband and wife for a long time. Investigation revealed that the accused woman, Draupadi Bai, suspected that her husband was having an affair with another woman. According to a report in India Today, even before this incident, there was tension between the two for several months.
Sleeping husband attacked
According to initial police investigation, on the night of the incident the husband and wife had dinner together and then went to sleep. Late at night, when Rajesh was in deep sleep, his wife allegedly attacked him with a sickle. Police said that Rajesh's private part was cut in this attack, due to which he was seriously injured. Despite bleeding profusely, the injured Rajesh ran out of the room screaming for help, officials said.
The family took him to the hospital
Hearing the screams of the victim, the couple's minor son woke up and informed other members of the family about the incident. The relatives immediately took Rajesh with the amputated limb to the hospital, so that the doctors could start emergency treatment as soon as possible. Doctors at SIMS Hospital said that the victim is undergoing treatment and when he was admitted, his condition was very critical. On receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot and took the accused woman into custody. During initial interrogation, the police came to know that frequent domestic disputes and suspicion of affair could be the reason for this attack. A case has been registered against the accused and further investigation is underway. Police officials say that they are interrogating the family members and collecting evidence related to the incident.
