Leading forwards from Spain’s two biggest football clubs have been shortlisted for the 2025/26 La Liga Player of the Season award.

The 18-year-old winger enjoyed another outstanding individual season on the right flank for Barca, recording an impressive 28 direct goal involvements in just 28 league appearances.
Joining him on the list is Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappé, who, despite a challenging campaign, netted 25 La Liga goals to secure his second consecutive Pichichi Trophy.
The list also includes Vedat Muriqi, who emerged as the league’s second-highest scorer with 23 goals for Mallorca, even as the club suffered relegation.
Completing the five-player shortlist are Real Betis midfielder Pablo Fornals and Villarreal’s rejuvenated winger Nicolas Pépé, both recognised for their standout performances throughout the season.
