Tezzbuzz Desk- These days Ranveer Singh is embroiled in controversies regarding the film Don 3. The film’s producer-director Farhan Akhtar has filed a complaint against the actor with the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE). It is alleged that Ranveer Singh left the project just three weeks before the shooting of the film started, due to which the producers may have to suffer huge losses.
Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit gave information about the entire matter in the press conference organized by FWICE. He told that Farhan Akhtar has said in his complaint that almost all the preparations for the film had been completed and the unit was about to leave for shooting. During this time, Ranveer Singh suddenly decided to walk out of the film.
According to Ashok Pandit, after receiving the complaint, FWICE called Farhan Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani for discussion. Both the producers told the federation that around Rs 45 crore has been spent so far on the pre-production of the film. He said that the sudden exit of a lead actor from such a big project can affect the entire planning and shooting schedule.
FWICE said that notices were sent to Ranveer Singh thrice to respond in the matter, but no response was received from him. However, after the announcement of the press conference, an email was sent by the actor, in which he expressed his desire to meet the Federation. The federation says that they will try to resolve the matter through dialogue.
FWICE President clearly said that no artiste in the film industry is above the rules. He said that when work on a film stops, the livelihood of thousands of technicians and workers is affected. For this reason the Federation has decided to issue a ‘non-cooperative directory’ against Ranveer Singh. This means that unless actors enter into formal negotiations with the federation, their collaboration may be limited.
The federation has also appealed to various crafts and producers in the industry to take the issue seriously and support the organization’s decision. FWICE says that its aim is to protect the interests of not only the producers but also thousands of employees of the film industry.
Talking about Ranveer Singh’s work front, the actor was last seen in Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar 2. Both the films performed well at the box office. Ranveer played characters like Hamza Ali Mazari and Jaskirat Singh Rangi in the spy-thriller franchise. Many actors including Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Akshaye Khanna were seen in important roles in the films.
