Baghei said this in the press conference. Amid positive news regarding the US-Iran agreement, he said, “We are in touch with the countries around the strait to protect their security and interests.”
Regarding a possible deal, he said there are “no guarantees” on US commitments and Iran is not concerned about any “threats”. He said that among the changes that have taken place, the special thing has been the participation of countries other than Pakistan in mediation, and a provision to ending the Lebanon conflict has also been included in the talks.
The Iranian spokesperson also said that the nuclear issue is not currently being discussed in the US-Iran talks and the focus is on “ending the conflict”. Baghei expressed fear that Israel might try to undermine the talks.
Baghei has said this at a time when US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who is visiting India, said on Monday that some big news can come out today regarding the ongoing talks with Iran. According to him, no agreement could be reached between the two countries on Sunday, but this should not be considered a big deal.
According to Rubio, America has made a strong proposal to Iran. This includes opening Hormuz and holding serious talks on Iran’s nuclear program within the stipulated time.
