Bollywood's He Man, Dharmendra, was conferred with the Padma Vibhushan honour following his death on November 24, 2025. The first phase of the Padma Awards ceremony took place in the National Capital today. Dharmendra's wife and veteran actress Hema Malini received the honour on his behalf. However, seated in the audience, their daughter Ahana Deol was visibly overwhelmed, remembering her late father.

Ahana Deol accompanied her mother, Hema Malini, at the Padma Awards ceremony. She was seated in the audience while the veteran actress accepted the award on Dharmendra's behalf. As the actress made her way to receive the honour from President Droupadi Murmu, the camera panned to Ahana, who was seated in the audience. She was seated with her husband, Vaibhav Vohra, by her side.

Hema Malini receives Padma Vibhushan honour for Dharmendra

Actress Hema Malini received the Padma Vibhushan award on behalf of her late actor husband. The veteran actress donned a pink saree with simple accessories for the ceremony. She was seated in the front row in the ceremony, which was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, and the Minister of Home Affairs of India, Amit Shah, along with the President of India.

In the first phase of the Padma Awards investiture ceremony, 66 out of 131 honourees. Out of 131 honourees this year, 2 Padma Vibhushan, 6 Padma Bhushan and 58 Padma Shris were handed out by President Murmu today. Along with Dharmendra, Bengali actor Prosenjit Chatterjee was also honoured. He received the Padma Shri. For the ceremony, he donned a traditional Bengali outfit.
