Rahul Gandhi alleged that the government does not increase the prices of petrol and diesel all at once, but in installments so that the public gradually feels the burden of inflation and “secretly their pockets keep getting cut.” He said that he had been warning about the economic crisis and rising inflation in the country for the last several months, but the government remained busy in electoral politics.
The Congress leader claimed that as soon as the elections were over, the prices of petrol and diesel were increased by about Rs 8. He said that fuel prices may increase further in the coming time, which will have a direct impact on the pockets of the general public.
Rahul Gandhi wrote in his post that Modi government makes big promises during elections, but as soon as the elections are over, it starts putting the burden of inflation on the public. He alleged that due to the policies of the government, the common man is continuously facing economic pressure.
The opposition is continuously cornering the central government regarding the prices of petrol and diesel in the country. At the same time, the government says that the prices of crude oil in the international market and global conditions affect the domestic fuel prices.
