Supaul. District Magistrate Supaul Sawan Kumar on Sunday conducted an on-site inspection of Kajra Minor Scheme in Gram Panchayat Laukaha under Block Supaul regarding the progress of the ongoing schemes under “Irrigation water till every field” program under Seven Nishchay-03. During the inspection, the “Bed Desilting and Canal Embankment Repairing of Kajara Minor under Irrigation Division, Saharsa” scheme of the Water Resources Department was reviewed. This work is being done under MNREGA and VB-Ji-Ram-Ji scheme.
The District Magistrate directed the engineers present on the spot and the program officer of MNREGA to ensure quality work as per the estimate. He also directed to clean the hume pipe installed in the main canal for smooth flow of water in the sub-branch canal coming out of the main canal and to clean the bottom of the canal to sufficient depth as per the prescribed standards. The District Magistrate said that effective and quality implementation of irrigation schemes is necessary to provide timely irrigation facilities to the farmers and to increase agricultural production.
During the inspection, DRDA Supaul Director Anit Kumar, Program Officer MNREGA, other MNREGA workers and local public representatives were present.
