IPL: The league stage of IPL 2026 is over and the names of all the 4 teams for the playoffs have been revealed. This season, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Gujarat Titans (GT), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) have managed to make it to the playoffs. In the 69th match of the ongoing IPL season, Rajasthan defeated Mumbai Indians by 30 runs and confirmed its place in the playoffs. With this result it became clear that now the playoff matches will be played between which teams.
Between which teams will the first qualifier and eliminator be played?
After the end of the league stage, RCB and GT teams are in the top-2 in the points table. These two teams will face each other in the first qualifier. RCB, GT and SRH all scored 18 points each in the league stage, but due to net run rate, Gujarat is at second and Sunrisers are at third. Whereas Rajasthan team made its place in the playoffs with 16 points. The eliminator match of this season will be between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals.
The team that wins Qualifier 1 will get a direct final ticket. The losing team will get one more chance to reach the finals. They will have to play Qualifier 2, where they will face the winning team of the eliminator match. The team losing the eliminator will be out of this tournament. The team that wins the second qualifier will get entry into the finals.
When and where will the playoff matches be played
Talking about the schedule, the first qualifier will be played on 26th May in Dharamshala. The eliminator match will be held on May 27 in New Chandigarh. The second qualifier will also be played on May 29 in New Chandigarh. The final match of the season will be held on May 31 in Ahmedabad.
