The time has come for fire to rain from the sky. ‘Nautapa’ is starting from tomorrow i.e. 25th May, which will continue for the next 9 days i.e. till 2nd June. Meteorologists and experts believe that during these 9 days, the Sun comes very close to the Earth, due to which the mercury can jump by 50 to 55 degrees Celsius in many parts of the country. During this most dangerous period of summer, the risk of heatstroke, heatwave and dehydration is at its peak. In such a situation, to avoid this scorching sun, it is not enough to just stay at home, but it is also very important to follow a correct Nautapa diet.
In fact, during the heat of the month of Jeth, our body starts getting heated from within. We often unknowingly eat and drink certain things which further increase body heat. It has a direct impact on our digestion and overall health. In such a situation, it is very important to know what should be in your plate for these 9 days and which things you should abstain from completely.
What not to eat: Your Nautapa diet plan will keep you away from these things
In summer our digestion becomes a little slow anyway. In such a situation, if you eat too much oily, spicy or spicy food, it causes fire in the stomach. The nature of garam masala and red chilli is very hot. It is being said that due to their excessive consumption, body temperature increases, excessive sweating occurs and the body gets dehydrated very quickly. Therefore, stay away from samosas, kachoris, pakodas and outside fast food for the next few days.
Apart from this, if you are fond of drinking tea or coffee throughout the day, then be a little careful. Due to caffeine, body water starts drying up. At the same time, after coming home from the scorching heat, taking out a cold drink straight from the fridge and gulping it down is also a big mistake. In fact, these high-sugar drinks provide a momentary coolness, but they dehydrate the body rapidly. Things like red meat and alcohol take a lot of time to digest, so it is wise to stay away from these during Nautapa. Dry fruits like cashews, almonds and walnuts should also be eaten in limited quantities during this period.
Take care of mango and jackfruit also, they can increase problems
You may be a little disappointed to know this, but mango, the king of fruits, should also be eaten with caution during this period. Experts say that mangoes are hot in nature, hence eating more than one or two mangoes in a day can cause heat in the stomach and mouth ulcers. Similarly, one should avoid eating litchi, jackfruit and brinjal among vegetables. According to the local people and also in Ayurveda, it is advised to reduce the use of garlic, ginger and green chillies, because they can spoil the digestion and cause indigestion and gas problems.
How to keep the body cool from inside in the scorching heat?
Now the question is, how to keep yourself fresh in these 9 days? The most direct answer to this is water. There should be maximum water rich items in your diet. Vegetables like cucumber, watermelon, melon, gourd, ridge gourd and tinda are no less than a boon for these days.
Apart from plain water, keep drinking coconut water, buttermilk, lassi, lemonade, sugarcane juice and wood apple juice to keep yourself hydrated throughout the day. Overall, during these 9 days of Nautapa, simple, easily digestible and cold food is your best friend. Keep your diet light and keep yourself safe and healthy in this scorching heat.
