Liverpool appear to be in a favourable position to secure the signing of RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomandé (19). However, reigning European champions Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly preparing to rival their pursuit, according to a report from The Athletic.
The Merseyside outfit are currently searching for a suitable successor to Mohamed Salah, who is set to play his final match for the club on Sunday. Their focus has turned towards Ivory Coast international Diomandé, who impressed following his transfer from Leganés last summer. The teenager recorded 13 goals and 10 assists across 36 appearances in all competitions for RB Leipzig during the season.
According to The Athletic, RB Leipzig are demanding a transfer fee exceeding €100 million for the young winger. Liverpool are considered to be in a strong position to reach an agreement on personal terms, the outlet adds. Nonetheless, PSG are also in the market for a new forward this summer. While the French champions are exploring other attacking options, they remain serious contenders to land Diomandé’s signature.
