Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami arrived in Haridwar on Sunday (24 May 2026) to grandly inaugurate the newly constructed Shri Anand Dharamshala. Devbhoomi Uttarakhand and especially Haridwar is the main center of unwavering faith of crores of devotees. Keeping this in mind, preparations for the upcoming Mahakumbh of 2027 have also intensified. CM Dhami, who arrived as the chief guest at the inauguration program, made it clear that the biggest priority of the state government is to provide world class facilities to the devotees and strongly preserve the Sanatan culture.
Actually, this huge and modern Dharamshala has been built by Shri Anand Dharamshala Trust. On this historic occasion of inauguration, the Chief Minister described Haridwar as the gateway to Indian spiritual consciousness and Sanatan culture. He said that there should be no dearth of accommodation and basic facilities for the devotees who come to the holy banks of Mother Ganga from every corner of the country and the world. It is being told that this new Dharamshala will prove to be a big support for lakhs of pilgrims during the upcoming Kumbh Mela and Chardham Yatra.
Kshatriya Kalauta community’s spirit of service and nation building
Many big leaders and people of saint community including Madhya Pradesh Urban Administration Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya were present in this important program. During his address, CM Dhami praised the Kshatriya Kalauta community. He told the stage that this society has always played a very important role in the reconstruction of the country and society due to its hard work, indomitable courage and family values.
Be it agriculture, trade, education or security of the country’s borders, the youth of this society are alert on every front. Making special mention of the participation of the brave sons of this community in the Indian Army, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and other security forces, the Chief Minister described it as a living example of selfless service and patriotism.
Preparations for 2027 Kumbh Mela and vision of Pushkar Singh Dhami Haridwar
In fact, at present the entire focus of the government of Devbhoomi is on the grand Haridwar Kumbh to be held in the year 2027. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has a clear vision about Haridwar that this time’s Kumbh will not only be divine and grand, but will also be unmatched in terms of security and order. Under the able guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is already working on a war footing on basic needs like revival of Ganga ghats, widening of roads, state-of-the-art traffic management and cleanliness so that every devotee returns with a pleasant experience from here.
The CM laid special emphasis on the fact that under the leadership of PM Modi, today the great Sanatan culture of India has got a new and powerful identity in the whole world. Be it the construction of a grand temple of Lord Shri Ram in Ayodhya, Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, Mahakal Lok or the redevelopment of Kedarnath-Badrinath Dham, an unprecedented spiritual awakening is being seen everywhere. He told that on the same lines in Uttarakhand also, the work of beautifying the mythological temples of ‘Manaskhand’ and ‘Kedarkhand’ is going on at a fast pace.
Blunt message on law and order and Uniform Civil Code (UCC)
In his address, Chief Minister Dhami not only talked about religion, work and faith, but also made his strict stance clear regarding the law and order of the state. He clearly warned that no one has the freedom to disturb social harmony in Devbhoomi. Instructions have been given to the local administration that religious events should be held at pre-decided places only, so that there is no inconvenience of any kind to the general public walking on the roads.
Apart from this, he described the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) implemented in Uttarakhand as a landmark step by the state government. According to the CM, this is not just a legal draft, but a historic decision taken towards giving real respect to mother power and ensuring equal rights and justice for every section of the society.
At the closing ceremony of the program, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that just as the pure Mother Ganga provides peace and spiritual energy to crores of people, in the same way this Anand Dharamshala will also emerge as a big center of service for the helpless, needy and devotees in the future.
