  • 250 grams gram flour
  • 20-25 black pepper
  • A teaspoonful of cumin seeds
  • A pinch of asafoetida
  • Salt to taste
  • Two tablespoons of oil
  • A teaspoon of baking soda
  • Half a cup of water

  • To make besan papad, first sift the besanpeeth well with the help of a sieve.
  • Now heat water in a pot and at this time add salt and baking soda to taste.
  • When the water boils then add asafoetida and along with this add coarsely ground cumin seeds.
  • Now switch off the gas and let the water cool down.
  • When the water cools down, add two teaspoons of oil and mix.
  • Now take sifted gram flour in a pan and add coarsely ground black pepper powder to it.
  • Add the prepared water little by little and knead the besan flour.
  • Now make small balls of the dough and cover them with oil for some time.
  • Mix one ball at a time in any flour and make a round papad by rolling it.
  • You can dry the prepared papads at home under a fan for 15-20 minutes.
  • Once the papads are slightly dry, fry them in hot oil until crisp.
  • These papads can break in hot sun so just dry them indoors or in cool sun for a few minutes.
