The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the NEET UG 2026 examination nationwide on May 3. Approximately 2.3 million students appeared for this examination. However, due to a paper leak controversy, the exam was cancelled, and a re-examination is now scheduled to be held on June 21.
As previously announced by the NTA, students appearing for the re-examination will not be charged any additional examination fee. Furthermore, students will also be eligible for a fee refund. However, to claim the refund, students must visit the NTA website and submit an application. It is pertinent to note that the NTA has already activated the fee refund link on its website. Students can now apply to claim their refunds.
**Applications for Fee Refund to Begin Shortly**
The NTA has initiated the process of refunding fees to students who appeared for the NEET UG examination. The online application process for the fee refund is set to commence shortly. Students who appeared for the NEET UG examination on May 3 can now apply for a refund of their fees.
**Details Required for Refund Application**
To apply, students must first visit the official NTA website: neet.nta.nic.in. Subsequently, they must log in using their designated login credentials. They are then required to enter accurate bank account details and submit the form. Once the form has been successfully submitted, the refund amount will be credited to their bank accounts.
**Fee Refund Based on Category**
During the application process for the NEET UG examination, fees were collected from students based on their respective categories. General category candidates were charged ₹1,700; OBC and EWS candidates were charged ₹1,600; SC and ST candidates were charged ₹1,000; and foreign candidates were charged ₹9,500.
