New Delhi: A man and his 2 sons died, while 3 people were injured in a head-on collision between 2 cars in Uttar Pradesh’s Yamuna Nagar on Friday. The accident happened near Leprosy Crossing, said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Yamuna Nagar) Vijay Anand. This area falls under Naini Police Station limits.
SUV went out of control: PoliceAccording to the police, an SUV travelling towards Yamuna Nagar, from the direction of Rewa reportedly went out of control and hit a car coming from the opposite direction. The victims from both the vehicles were rescued and rushed to SRN Hospital.
PTI reported that 3 of the victims died during treatment. They were identified as Deepak Chaurasia (45), and his two sons — Divyanshu (20) and Man (17). The others injured in the accident are currently admitted to hospital and are undergoing treatment.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police said that the Chaurasia family hailed from Phaphamau area of Prayagraj. They were reportedly on their way to Rewa when the accident happened, he added. All 3 bodies have been sent for post mortem.
Following the accident, UP CM Yogi Adityanath expressed deep grief at the loss of lives. He also directed the concerned officials to monitor the relief work. He expressed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the quick recovery of those injured in the accident.
