FC Cincinnati may have endured a slow start to the 2026 MLS season, but the Orange and Blue rediscovered their spark with an emphatic 6-2 victory over Orlando City, led by a sensational performance from Evander.

The Brazilian playmaker produced a masterclass at the heart of Cincinnati’s attack, guiding his team to end a three-match losing streak with a record-setting night at home.

Evander first turned provider in the 42nd minute, setting up French forward Kenji Mboma Dem to level the score after Martín Ojeda had earlier given Orlando the lead. Just before halftime, in the third minute of stoppage time, Evander found the net himself to give Cincinnati the advantage.

After the interval, he continued to dominate proceedings. Following another goal from Ojeda, Evander once again assisted Dem, who completed his brace to restore Cincinnati’s lead.

Head coach Pat Noonan’s side then tightened their grip on the match, with Evander scoring his second goal six minutes later. The Brazilian wasn’t done yet—he added a third assist of the night when he delivered a pinpoint cross to Kévin Denkey, allowing the Togolese striker to make it 5-2 in the 77th minute.

Substitute Tom Barlow capped off the night’s scoring with a late finish in stoppage time, sealing a commanding 6-2 win for the hosts.

Evander’s performance was another reminder of his brilliance, coming just three weeks after his four-goal contribution, including a hat-trick, in the victory over Inter Miami that saw him outshine Lionel Messi and his teammates.

Though a call-up to the Brazilian national team may never come, Evander’s status among the most talented players to grace Major League Soccer is now firmly cemented.
