According to the official announcement, Pokémon TCG Pocket’s next booster pack, Paradox Drive, is coming on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 6 PM PDT (6:30 AM IST). The upcoming update is considered a significant one for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet fans as it will bring Ancient and Future-themed Pokémon cards to the mobile card-collecting game.

Pokémon TCG Pocket regularly adds a new booster pack to the game at the end of each month, so the new update arrives right in time. The Lucario-themed Pulsing Aura pack from April, which also included significant improvements to the game’s quality of life, is followed by Paradox Drive. Although Paradox Drive does not appear to be making any high-level changes to the game this time, it has the potential to significantly shake up the competitive scene in a big way.

Following the Pulsing Aura, the spotlight shifts to two of the most anticipated Pokémon of the TCG Pocket. The next set for the Pokémon TCG Pocket has been revealed, highlighting the debut of Koraidon and Miraidon, which are two of the top chase cards that Pokémon fans have been waiting for.

What is the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG)?

The Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) is a strategy based collectible card game where players assume the roles of Pokémon Trainers, using their Pokémon to battle opponents. The goal is to be the first to knock out the opponent’s Pokémon to claim all six prize cards.

  • Card Types: There is a standard 60-card deck consisting of three primary elements. The Pokémon are the combatants that the user puts into play. They feature varying Hit Points (HP) and attacks. The Energy cards are attached to the user’s Pokémon to pay the costs required to perform attacks. The action-oriented Trainer Cards are categorised as Items, Supporters, or Stadiums. They provide strategic advantages like drawing extra cards, healing, or disrupting the opponent.
  • On the user’s turn, they have to draw a card from their deck and then perform multiple actions in any order. The user can either play basic Pokémon to their bench, evolve their existing Pokémon, attach one Energy card, play Trainer cards, use special abilities, or retreat their active Pokémon.
  • Attacks deduct HP from the opponent’s Active Pokémon using Damage Counters. When damage reaches or exceeds a Pokémon’s maximum HP, it is “Knocked Out” and sent to the discard pile. The victor then draws one Prize card. Certain rare cards grant two Prize cards when knocked out.

It provides daily free booster packs, stunning 3D immersive cards, in-game trading, and simplified battle rules.
