There is a new "Super" hero professor in town, and he just pulled off one of the most insane extreme sports feats ever caught on camera.
Meet Tanaboworn Sirikunakornkun. By day, he’s a 48-year-old real estate entrepreneur, a university professor, and a high-level executive in the Thai Parliament.
But to the rest of the world, he is now officially known as “Super Toom”, the man who just broke the world record for the highest altitude skydive landing ever recorded.
Where did he choose to land? Oh, just on top of Ojos del Salado in Chile, which happens to be the highest active volcano on planet Earth.
Breathtakingly Hazardous Landscape of Ojos del Salado
Dropping in at 17,854 Feet, on March 14, Super Toom defied extreme altitudes, freezing winds, and incredibly thin air to touch down safely at an astounding 5,442 meters (17,854 feet) above sea level.
To put that into perspective, he landed his parachute at an altitude higher than most commercial turboprop planes fly. The death-defying stunt utterly shattered the previous world record of 5,317 meters (17,444 feet), which had stood since 2023.
The internet is losing its mind over how beautiful the location is. From up there, the volcanic landscape looks less like Earth and more like a sci-fi movie.
“The view was incredibly beautiful, unlike anything I had ever seen before,” Super Toom shared. “It is a truly amazing place, with colours created by various minerals that make the volcano look like a rainbow.”
Absolute Madman Fast-Tracked His Skills
If you think a stunt like this takes decades of preparation, think again. Super Toom’s timeline is what is truly blowing people’s minds online:
2024: Starts skydiving for the very first time.
Present Day: Has already smashed out 1,250 jumps.
That is an average of nearly two jumps every single day since he picked up the sport.
The name "Super Toom" isn't just an internet handle, either. While his parents gave him the nickname "Toom," later he added “Super” to represent the immense responsibility he carries across his academic, business, and political careers.
"Don't Let Anyone Destroy Your Dreams"
While the international team behind the jump, including HALO2, Atacama Copter, the Chilean DGAC, and Spondylus, celebrated the technical triumph, Super Toom wants the world to take away a much bigger message.
He did this to bring immense pride to his home country of Thailand, and he is already planning his next record-breaking stunt on home turf.
His parting words are currently going viral as the ultimate motivational quote: "Every human has special abilities within themselves. Everyone can be ‘Super’ in their own way... Just remember, don’t let anyone look down on or destroy your dreams. Stay determined, dedicated, disciplined, and the universe will grant you strength."
