Hyderabad: Friday night’s match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad was very exciting. Virat Kohli looked very excited throughout the match. After losing the match, when RCB players went to congratulate the opposing team, Kohli refused to shake Travis Head’s hand. He went straight past the head and met the other players. This incident is becoming increasingly viral on social media.
A heated incident took place during the match
The tension between Kohli and Head was clearly visible during the match. During Venkatesh Iyer’s aggressive play in the third over, Kohli pointed towards his head and asked him to bowl. He also hinted at the impact player. Head played mostly as an impact player this season, but in this match he was in the field. This incident further heated the atmosphere of the match.
Kohli’s disappointing performance
Virat Kohli could not stay at the crease for long. In the last over of the powerplay, he was out after scoring only 15 runs. He tried to play a big shot on the slower ball of Saqib Hussain but the ball did not connect properly. Smaran Ravichandran ended Kohli’s innings by taking an easy catch. Travis Head bowled the last overs of the match and took the wicket of Rajat Patidar.
RCB remained on top even after defeat
RCB lost by 55 runs while chasing the target of 256 runs, but due to better net run rate the team remained on top in the league stage. The top-3 teams had 18-18 points and the net run rate decided the final standings. RCB and Gujarat Titans are ready for the playoffs by making it to the top-2, while Sunrisers Hyderabad finished third.
SRH’s explosive batting
Sunrisers Hyderabad, batting first, scored 255 runs. Abhishek Sharma played a stormy inning of 56 runs in 22 balls. Ishan Kishan scored 79 runs on 44 balls. Heinrich Klaasen gave a strong score to the team by playing an aggressive inning of 51 runs in 24 balls.
