Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission i.e. MPPSC has released the result of State Service Preliminary Examination 2026. After the results came, happiness was seen on the faces of thousands of candidates. This time a total of 3786 candidates have been selected for the main examination.
According to the information released by the Commission, 3055 candidates have been included in the regular merit list, while 731 candidates have been included in the provisional merit list. As soon as the result was released, MPPSC Result 2026 became a topic of discussion on social media also.
Why was MPPSC result released in two parts?
This time MPPSC Prelims Result 2026 has been released in two different parts. The biggest reason for this is said to be the court cases to OBC reservation. The Commission has clearly stated that this arrangement has been implemented due to the pending cases to the State Service Examination 2019 and the instructions of the General Administration Department. For this reason, regular selection list has been made for 87 percent posts, while the remaining 13 percent posts have been kept temporary. The Commission has also clarified that the regular and provisional lists will remain separate and no changes will be made in them later.

The exam was held on 26th April
MPPSC preliminary exam was held on 26th April 2026. The examination was conducted in two phases in 54 district headquarters of Madhya Pradesh. A large number of candidates had appeared in the examination. Candidates were waiting for the result since the end of the examination. Now with the release of results, preparations for the main examination have also intensified.
How many posts will be recruited in total?
According to the notification issued by the Commission, a total of 156 posts will be filled through this recruitment process. In these, seats have been fixed for different categories. 41 posts have been kept for general category. 42 posts have been fixed for Other Backward Classes i.e. OBC. There are 20 posts earmarked for Scheduled Caste and 33 posts for Scheduled Tribe category. At the same time, 20 seats have been kept for the economically weaker section i.e. EWS. Apart from this, provision of reservation has also been made for disabled and ex-servicemen candidates.
Discussion increased again regarding OBC reservation
With MPPSC Result 2026, the issue of OBC reservation has once again come into discussion. The Commission said that out of 42 posts of OBC category, 26 posts have been kept in the regular list, while 16 posts have been included in the provisional category. Now the final decision will be taken only after the court’s decision. For this reason, there is confusion among many candidates.
Candidates preparing for main examination
After the release of prelims result, now the entire focus of the candidates is on the main examination. The students who have been selected are now busy in making the strategy for the Mains Exam. Experts say that to be successful in the main examination, special attention will have to be paid to answer writing practice, current affairs and time management. This time the competition is also considered to be very tough.
