The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) is set to launch a WhatsApp-based chatbot to make it easier for members to access PF- services and get answers to their queries. The move is aimed at reducing the need for branch visits and improving complaint resolution.
Once the service goes live, members will be able to send a simple “Hello” to the EPFO official WhatsApp number to start using the chatbot. To help users identify the genuine account, EPFO’s WhatsApp number will be verified with a green tick. The chatbot will support multiple Indian languages, making it easier for members across the country to use the service.
The chatbot will provide access to routine services like PF balance, recent transactions, claim status and pending compliance issues. The AI-powered chatbot will be available 24 hours to answer common questions.
Users may receive WhatsApp notifications if they need to complete tasks like Aadhaar verification or updating bank account details.
EPFO is receiving a large number of complaints to PF withdrawal, pension and salary issues. WhatsApp chatbots are expected to make conversations faster and reduce latency. Labor Minister Mansukh Mandaviya also said that the ministry has upgraded the Shram Suvidha and Samadhan portal of the Employee Provident Fund Organization to further improve compliance and grievance tracking.
