Nissan SUV: Nissan India’s new midsize SUV Nissan Tekton will be launched in India on July 9. This model is considered very important for the company’s return to India. Earlier, Nissan had discontinued its Kicks SUV in 2023. Now through Tekton, the company is preparing to make a strong entry in the midsize SUV segment.
Engine and Power
The Nissan Tekton will use the CMF-B platform, which will be shared with the upcoming Renault Duster. It can get two turbo-petrol engine options—1.0 liter turbo engine (100hp, 166Nm) and 1.3 liter turbo engine (163hp, 280Nm). Apart from this, an engine with 154hp power can also be seen in some variants.
gearbox option
6-speed manual gearbox will be standard in this SUV. The option of 6-speed DCT and 7-speed dual-clutch transmission can also be given in the top variants. Some reports have also suggested the possibility of a strong-hybrid engine option, although this has not been confirmed yet.
Design and look
The design of Nissan Tekton is said to be inspired by the company’s flagship SUV Nissan Patrol. It can be given C-shaped DRLs, wide front grille, chrome accents and connected lighting elements, which will give it a premium look.
Features and Technology
The SUV is expected to get features like 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 7-inch digital driver display, 360-degree camera, multiple drive modes, automatic climate control and rear AC vents.
launch timeline
Nissan Tekton is likely to be launched in India by mid-2026. After launch, this SUV will directly give tough competition to segment leaders like Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
