Under the direction of Director General of Police Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow and Additional Director General of Police Varanasi Zone, Varanasi, under the efficient supervision of Mr. Inspector General of Police Vindhyachal Zone Mirzapur and under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Sonbhadra, Sonbhadra Police has achieved an important success under ‘#OperationConviction’ in the campaign being run against crime and criminals in Sonbhadra district.
As a result of effective investigation, strong evidence collection, effective advocacy and strong police-judicial system coordination, the accused in the case of culpable homicide has been convicted and punished severely by the court.
Brief description of the case –
Police station – Duddhi, district Sonbhadra, MoU No. 38/2023 Section – 304, 323, 504 IPC Accused – Ram Pyare, son of late Ram Sahay, resident of Korchi (Biadamar), police station Duddhi, district Sonbhadra.
The accused Ram Pyare above was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment and a fine of ₹ 10,000/- under Section 304 of the Indian Penal Code by the Sessions Court of Sonbhadra District. Apart from this, under sections 323 and 504 of Indian Penal Code, he was punished with imprisonment of 06 months each and a fine of ₹ 500-₹ 500. All sentences will run concurrently. In case of non-payment of fine, the accused will have to face additional imprisonment of three months.
In the said case, the police station Duddhi, investigator, court clerk, prosecution and monitoring cell presented solid and strong evidence before the court with continuous and effective advocacy, as a result of which the accused could be convicted and sentenced.
