IPL 2026: Sunrisers Hyderabad easily defeated RCB by 55 runs at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad. Batting first, Hyderabad team scored 255 runs in 20 overs, in reply Bengaluru team could not achieve the target. However, despite this defeat, RCB did not suffer any loss because this team remained on top in the points table and now it will get two chances to reach the finals. On the other hand, Hyderabad did not benefit from this victory because this team will remain at third position in the points table. Bengaluru, Gujarat and Hyderabad all three finished the league stage with 18 points each. Now on May 1, RCB and Gujarat Titans will clash in the first qualifier.

Hyderabad won the toss and decided to bat first. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma gave a stormy start to the team. Both the batsmen added 45 runs in 4 overs for the first wicket, but Rasikh Salam Dar bowled him out for 26 runs. After this, Abhishek Sharma along with Ishan Kishan batted brilliantly. Abhishek scored a half-century in just 20 balls. He played an innings of 56 runs in 22 balls. Ishan Kish batted stormily with Heinrich Klaasen. Klaasen played an inning of 51 runs in 24 balls while Ishan Kishan scored 79 runs. Nitish Reddy also came at number five and scored unbeaten 29 runs in 12 balls.
Bengaluru batsmen remained slow
Bengaluru's strong batting unit could not bat fast against Hyderabad. Venkatesh Iyer made a bright start, he scored 44 runs in 19 balls but this player was dismissed by Ehsaan Malinga. After this, the biggest blow to RCB was given by Saqib Hussain, who dismissed Virat Kohli for 15 runs. Devdutt Padikkal could score only 21 runs in 14 balls. Rajat Patidar did score 56 runs but his innings was very slow. Krunal Pandya scored 41 not out and Tim David scored 15 not out. In the end, RCB team could score only 200 runs and lost the match by 55 runs.
Status of IPL 2026 points table
Bengaluru team topped the points table, winning 9 out of 14 matches. He had 18 points. Gujarat Titans also won 9 out of 14 matches. Hyderabad also won 9 out of 14 matches but its net run rate was worse than RCB and Gujarat. Now Rajasthan has a big chance to make fourth place. Rajasthan is facing Mumbai, as soon as it wins that match, this team will reach the playoffs, if it loses then KKR will have a chance to reach there.
