It follows paleoclimatologist Jack Hall, who begins warning officials about catastrophic environmental changes after witnessing alarming developments in Antarctica.

As extreme weather patterns begin rapidly escalating across the globe, scientists realize the planet is heading toward a sudden new Ice Age. While governments struggle to respond to the growing crisis, Jack races to New York City to save his son Sam, who becomes trapped in the city alongside his friends as deadly storms, flooding, and freezing temperatures devastate the region.
