Friday OTT releases of this week (May 18 - May 24)

Ladies First - Netflix
Netflix is bringing a unique comedy with Ladies First, which premieres on May 22. The English-language film stars Sacha Baron Cohen as Damien, a self-proclaimed “ladies’ man” whose world turns upside down when he enters a parallel universe dominated by women.

As Damien struggles to survive in a society where gender roles are reversed, he finds himself reporting to Alex, played by Rosamund Pike, who was once his least respected employee. The film mixes satire and comedy while unusually exploring power dynamics. The cast also includes Charles Dance, Emily Mortimer, Richard E. Grant and Fiona Shaw.

Dhurandhar: Raw and Undekha - Netflix
Action lovers can also check out Dhurandhar: Raw and Undekha on Netflix from May 22. The Hindi espionage thriller stars Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi.

This “Raw and Undekha” edition promises a more intense and uncensored viewing experience with high-octane action scenes and darker storytelling. The film follows a world of espionage, secrets and dangerous missions, with Ranveer Singh leading the story in a gritty action-packed role.

System - Amazon Prime Video
Courtroom dramas continue to remain popular among OTT audiences, and System hopes to grab attention with its mix of legal battles and emotional conflicts. Releasing on Amazon Prime Video on May 22, the Hindi thriller stars Sonakshi Sinha and Jyotika in lead roles.

The story revolves around Neha Rajvansh, a privileged public prosecutor aiming to secure a partnership at her father’s law firm. She teams up with courtroom stenographer Sarika Rawat to solve high-profile cases. However, things become complicated as hidden motives and moral dilemmas begin to surface. The film also features Ashutosh Gowariker in a key role.

Madhuvidhu - Sony LIV
Malayalam romantic comedy Madhuvidhu premiered on Sony LIV on May 22. Starring Sharaf U Dheen and Kalyani Panicker, the film explores the funny and emotional side of married life.

The story follows Amrut Raj, an eligible bachelor from a traditional household, whose life changes after he falls in love with Sneha. While the couple manages to overcome interfaith challenges and get married, their happily-ever-after soon turns chaotic because of family pressure and daily struggles. The film also stars Jagadish, Saikumar, Amal Jose and Azees Nedumangad.

Bad Thoughts Season 2 - Netflix
Dark comedy fans can look forward to Bad Thoughts Season 2, which arrives on Netflix on May 24. Headlined by Tom Segura, the anthology-style series continues to present bizarre, uncomfortable and darkly funny stories.

The new season promises more unpredictable situations and twisted humour that explores strange aspects of human behaviour. The cast also includes Robert Iler and Arturo Castro.

With thrillers, comedy, romance and courtroom drama all dropping this Friday, OTT viewers clearly have plenty of options lined up for the weekend. Stay tuned!
