Sanjay Dutt’s daughter speaks out on growing up without her mother

Sanjay Dutt’s daughter, Trishala Dutt, has opened up about her traumatic childhood, recalling how she grew up without her mother Richa Sharma.

In an exclusive interview on the YouTube channel Inside Thoughts Out Loud, Trishala spoke at length about how her life took a drastic turn after she lost her mother at the age of five.

The psychotherapist explained that since she didn’t have a safe space to express her feelings, she was bullied about her weight at school, and the issue followed her into college.

She recalled, “I faced a lot of hardship and a lot of taunting from children around me because I was a child at the time, and I did not have a safe space.”

Speaking about her mother’s death in 1996, Trishala explained how it took a toll on her mental health, with her family dealing with emotional strain and uncertainty at the time.

“My mother passed away in 1996 when I was 8 years old. She died from a brain tumour and was diagnosed in 1989. By the time it was discovered, it was already grade 4. That type of brain cancer is one of the most aggressive and deadly,” she added.

For the unversed, Sanjay Dutt married Richa Sharma in New York in 1987, and they welcomed Trishala the following year.
