A new report from Italian daily La Stampa indicates that Luciano Spalletti is prepared to resign from his role as Juventus head coach if the team fails to secure qualification for the Champions League.
Spalletti only assumed charge on October 30, 2025, and recently extended his contract until June 2028, just a few weeks ago.
However, reports suggest growing friction between Spalletti and sporting director Damien Comolli, with club owner and Agnelli family heir John Elkann reportedly being asked to take a stance between the two figures moving forward.

Juventus were close to clinching a top-four spot, but their 2-0 defeat to Fiorentina caused them to drop to joint fifth place alongside Como.
Heading into the final weekend of the Serie A season, the Bianconeri must win their derby encounter against Torino and hope that either Roma or Milan drop points to reclaim a position in the Champions League places.
As per La Stampa’s report, Spalletti is ready to step down and submit his resignation should he fail to achieve the club’s primary target for the season.
At the same time, there remains a possibility that Juventus could decline his resignation and instead persuade him to remain, potentially granting him greater authority over decisions concerning the first-team squad.
