ICDS meeting in Secretariat: Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari tested the quality of Anganwadi nutrition, gave instructions for transparent distribution

Constant efforts are being made by the Rajasthan government to improve the nutrition and health of children. In this sequence, Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Diya Kumari held an important meeting with the officials of ICDS Department at Jaipur Secretariat on Tuesday. In the meeting, a detailed review of the quality, nutritional value and distribution system of nutritional food given to children at Anganwadi centers of the state was done.

During the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari inspected the new sample recipe “Hot Cooked Meal” under the nutrition provided to children in the age group of 3 to 6 years through CONFED. He himself took information about the quality, taste and nutritional level of the recipe and discussed its usefulness with the officials.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that the nutrition given to children is not just food, but the foundation of their healthy future. He directed the officials to provide quality, nutritious and timely food at Anganwadi centres, so that malnutrition can be effectively reduced in the state.

In the meeting, special emphasis was laid on making the nutrition distribution system more effective, regular and transparent. The Deputy Chief Minister directed the officials that there should not be any negligence or irregularity in the distribution process. He said that the government’s priority is to ensure that nutritious food reaches every needy child at the right time.

Diya Kumari told the departmental officers that technical monitoring, regular inspection and accountability should be ensured for better implementation of nutrition schemes. He also stressed the need to conduct all programs to children’s health and development with sensitivity and seriousness.

In the meeting, senior officials of the Women and Child Development Department also gave presentations to various schemes, nutrition programs and new recipes. Officials said that the new hot cooked meal recipe has been prepared keeping in mind the health of children, in which a balance of both taste and nutrition has been maintained.

The Government of Rajasthan is continuously working towards the goal of “Malnutrition Free Rajasthan”. In this direction, many schemes are being run through the ICDS department to provide better nutrition to children, pregnant women and lactating mothers.

At the end of the meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the health and nutrition of children is among the top priorities of the state government and no slackness will be allowed in this direction.
