Lucknow: A very big and relief-filled good news has emerged for lakhs of government employees, teachers and pensioners of Uttar Pradesh. Amidst the rising inflation, the Yogi government of the state has given a big gift to the employees and has taken a great decision of increasing the Dearness Allowance (DA) by 2 percent. This step of the government has brought a wave of happiness on the faces of the employees and it is going to have a direct impact on their upcoming salaries.

Now dearness allowance directly increased from 58% to 60%

After this big decision of the Uttar Pradesh government, now the dearness allowance (DA) of state employees has directly increased from 58 percent to 60 percent ($60\%$). After the recent DA increase order by the Central Government, now the UP Government has also taken this step for its employees. With this decision of the government, about 16 lakh government employees, teachers and pensioners of the entire state are going to get direct and huge economic benefits.

Effect will be visible in salary and pension coming in June

The government is fully prepared to give the benefit of this increased DA to the employees along with the salary of May 2026. As we know, the salary for the month of May is credited to the bank accounts of the employees in the beginning of June, hence its direct impact will be seen in the salary and pension received in June. After this change, in the first week of June, more salaries will be deposited in the accounts of employees than before.

Arrears will be received from January, money will go to GPF account

Yogi government has made it completely clear that this increase in dearness allowance will be considered effective from January 1, 2026. This simply means that the employees will not only get the increased salary, but will also be given the outstanding money (arrears) of the previous months. The arrears of the entire four months from January 1, 2026 to April 30, 2026 will be deposited in the General Provident Fund (GPF) account of the employees. At the same time, cash payment of 60 percent DA, which will be applicable from May 2026, will be transferred directly by adding it to the salary of June.
