Rajiv Gandhi’s Death Anniversary : Today (21 May) is the 35th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. Let us tell you that on the night of 21 May 1991, Rajiv Gandhi was killed in a bomb blast during an election rally in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. During this time, a woman named Dhanu, who was associated with the terrorist organization LTTE, approached Rajiv Gandhi. The woman had a garland in her hand and bent down to touch Rajiv Gandhi’s feet as a sign of respect. While doing so, he triggered the belt-bomb tied to his waist, causing an explosion. Rajiv Gandhi, the bomb attacker and 14 other people were killed in this horrific blast.
