Rajiv Gandhi’s Death Anniversary : Today (21 May) is the 35th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. On this occasion, Congress Parliamentary Party President Sonia Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra paid tribute to the former Prime Minister on the martyr’s land. Along with this, Rahul wrote an emotional post while sharing Rajiv Gandhi’s photo on social media.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi wrote in an ex-post on Thursday, “Papa, I will fulfill the responsibility of realizing the efficient, prosperous and strong India that you had dreamed of. Your learning, your values and your memories will always be with me.” Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s daughter Miraya Vadra and son Rehan Vadra paid tribute to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 35th death anniversary at Veer Bhoomi. Along with this, many Congress leaders including former Rajasthan CM and senior leader P Chidambaram paid tribute to Rajiv Gandhi.
Let us tell you that on the night of 21 May 1991, Rajiv Gandhi was killed in a bomb blast during an election rally in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. During this time, a woman named Dhanu, who was associated with the terrorist organization LTTE, approached Rajiv Gandhi. The woman had a garland in her hand and bent down to touch Rajiv Gandhi’s feet as a sign of respect. While doing so, he triggered the belt-bomb tied to his waist, causing an explosion. Rajiv Gandhi, the bomb attacker and 14 other people were killed in this horrific blast.
