The wheat procurement process is going on in Madhya Pradesh, meanwhile, giving a big relief to the farmers, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced to extend the last date of wheat procurement from May 23 to May 28. Keep in mind that this facility has been made for those farmers who have booked slots and due to some reason their crop cannot be purchased till now.
Despite the scorching heat and scorching heat, farmers are reaching the procurement centers with their produce and selling their wheat to the government. Keeping in mind the heat, all the necessary arrangements have been made at the procurement centers including arrangement of shady places for the farmers, provision of cold drinking water, the Chief Minister himself is monitoring the procurement process.
Now wheat will be purchased till 28th May, not 23rd.
Dr. Mohan Yadav said today that he was told by the farmers that they have booked the slots, but the queues at the procurement centers are long and our wheat is not being purchased. On this we said that we will buy wheat from all the farmers whose slots have been booked. Therefore, I announce to extend the date of wheat procurement for those farmers from 23rd May to 28th May.
MP is the largest wheat purchasing state in the country
The Chief Minister said that according to my information, as of today Madhya Pradesh is the state that purchases the most wheat in the country. Our government always takes farmer-friendly decisions and we are celebrating this year as Farmer Welfare Year, so we will not let the farmers face any problem.
91 lakh metric tons of wheat has been purchased so far
Dr. Mohan Yadav told that last year the Madhya Pradesh government had purchased 75 lakh metric tons of wheat and this target has been increased to 100 lakh metric tons this year. Till now we have purchased 91 lakh metric tons of wheat. We will soon complete the target. The government will buy every grain of all the farmers whose slots have been booked.
MSP of wheat Rs 2625/- per quintal
It is noteworthy that this year the minimum support price of wheat i.e. MSP has been fixed at Rs 2585/- per quintal by the Central Government on which Madhya Pradesh Government is giving a bonus of Rs 40 per quintal, that is, wheat is being procured in Madhya Pradesh at Rs 2625/- per quintal MSP. The Chief Minister has assured the farmers that the five-year promise of purchasing wheat at Rs 3000/- per quintal will definitely be fulfilled.
