30 years ago India and Italy were at the same level; But now…; ‘So’ big difference in economy of both the countries
Who is involved?
According to a report by Bussiness, banks may allow teams to the bank’s business and corporate operations to work from home for two days a week. Bank intends to implement this scheme initially as a trial project for a period of 30 days. This facility will be available to those teams of the bank, which do not interact directly with customers i.e. those teams do not interact with customers on a daily basis. Primarily, this will include ‘back-end’ and corporate departments such as IT, Finance, Operations, Risk Management and Compliance.
Help to keep the country’s currency safe
The decision has been taken in the wake of a recent appeal by Prime Minister Narendra Modi; In which he appealed to the big corporate organizations of the country to provide ‘work from home’ options for their employees. Due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East to Iran, crude oil prices are skyrocketing in the international market, putting enormous pressure on the country’s foreign exchange reserves. According to Prime Minister Modi, working from home will not only save fuel, but also help safeguard the country’s precious foreign exchange reserves.
Preparations are in full swing
Discussions have been going on at the highest levels of the bank for some time now to introduce ‘work from home’ facility for select employees of the bank. Informal discussions have also been completed in certain groups on this topic. A trial run of this will be started soon. An HDFC Bank spokesperson clarified that the ‘work from home’ facility will be applicable only to those employees who are engaged in business-support and corporate-support nature.
This decision of the bank will not cause any inconvenience to the common customers; Because all branches of the bank and staff directly interacting with customers will continue to be present in the office and work as per their regular and standardized schedule. According to sources in HDFC Bank, if this one-month trial is a complete success, this ‘hybrid model’ will be implemented permanently for a long time.
