The final season of the best superhero show, The Boys, is finally here. Read MensXP’s The Boys season 5 review to find out why the Prime Video show is a big success.

The Boys Season 5 Story

Homelander (Antony Starr) controls America through fascist terror, imprisoning dissenters in Freedom Camps. Butcher (Karl Urban), Hughie (Jack Quaid), Annie (Erin Moriarty) and The Boys mount a desperate resistance against insurmountable odds to stop his tyrannical rule.

The Boys Season 5 Review

The show created by Eric Kripke became an instant success when it first aired in 2019 and since then has been at the top spot as the best superhero show and among the best shows in recent years.

The finale begins on a strong note with Butcher and Annie planning to rescue the rest of the boys from the facility and Homelander demanding respect from the people of America.

The first two episodes are a wild and thrilling ride where the stakes are high, and nobody is safe, not The Boys or the supes. However, the show dips a bit towards the end before picking it up for that epic finale.

The humour, the gore, the action perfectly complement the strong writing, and the finale will leave you on a bitter-sweet note and yet you will yourself satisfied with how Eric Kripke has ended things.

The Boys Season 5 Star Cast Performances

Karl Urban and Antony Starr are MVPs of The Boys and the show won’t work as well without them. Both of their characters, the two sides of the same coin, are scene stealers, and the two actors absolutely nail it. It's a shame than neither of them received any accolades for their terrific performances.

If Karl Urban and Antony Starr are souls, Jack Quaid is the heart. His character is the sole goodness left in this world and no matter what, he still holds onto the goodness in his heart and perhaps is the voice of reason for the audience.

The rest of the actors, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie and Jensen Ackles are outstanding.
