Outside of GTA 6, LEGO Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight is one of the most hotly-anticipated open-world games of the year. The reviews have been extremely positive, with comparisons being made to the classic Arkham games by Rocksteady. If you're on the fence about the game and want to play early and without spending any cash, then you might want to check out the LEGO Batman pop-up event in London.

Open from 2.30pm until 8pm on May 20, the LEGO Batman pop-up event is taking place at Potters Field Park near London Bridge. It's free to visit, although if you want to go hands-on with the co-op mode and play the game before release, you'll need to sign up to book a spot on the event website.

In addition to the ability to play LEGO Batman before the Standard Edition launches on May 22, attendees can also pose for pictures, check out different LEGO figures and even take home a free LEGO goodie bag while stocks last.

If you are unable to book a gameplay slot online, walk-ups can also play the game, albeit on a first come, first served basis.

Speaking of playing the game early, LEGO Batman fans can actually play the game now, but only by purchasing the Deluxe Edition.

The Legacy of the Dark Knight Deluxe Edition costs £79.99 on consoles and PC, compared to £59.99 for the Standard Edition.

In addition to early access, the Deluxe Edition contains the Arkham Trilogy Pack, the Batman Beyond Pack and the Party Music Pack.

Each pack contains a new suit for each of the seven playable characters, as well as a Batmobile variant, and various Batcave customisation items.

The Deluxe Edition also comes with the Mayhem Collection starring The Joker and Harley Quinn. Launching later this year, the Mayhem Collection adds new story content and a Mayhem Mode, which tasks players with causing chaos on the streets of Gotham.

Physical editions of the game are generally cheaper than digital versions, with the likes of Argos selling the Standard Edition for £47.99.
