Karnataka HC stays probe against Amazon in Ravi Belagere book piracy case

Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court has stayed proceedings in a case registered against Amazon Seller Services Private Limited over allegations of selling unauthorised copies of journalist Ravi Belagere’s book “Heli Hogu Karana”.
The case came up for hearing on Tuesday before the vacation single-judge bench of Justice K V Aravind after Amazon Seller Services sought a stay on the investigation.
After hearing arguments for some time, the court granted an interim stay on the proceedings.
The court also issued notices to Subramanyapura Police Station and Bhavana Belagere and adjourned the hearing to the third week of June.
